[Now that they've been on the road for a few days and have stopped at a campsite for the night, Nico feels like he can give Rachel an actual status update. He did promise her to keep in touch.]
Hey...Rachel. We're all okay. Percy and Clarisse haven't killed each other. Or tried to, for that matter.
say someone's been having visions... how much of the future is actually set in stone
[ because that's not ominous at all, no. until she can get an audience with the monarchs, though, clarisse really has no one else to turn to when it comes to the visions she'd had during the moon quest. one of them in particular is bugging her, but, of course, that's the one she doesn't actually want to talk about, even if she is vaguely alluding to it by asking if she should believe it or not. she's not entirely sure how this vision shit works, but at least back home, they're usually pretty accurate, and almost always come true. she's concerned for the future of the drabwurld, yes, but she's also concerned about ... well, what the future may have in store for her personally. ]
[ about thirty seconds after she sends the messages, she realizes she'd actually sent them in greek because it's easier for her, but she's not entirely sure if rachel can read greek. is that part of the oracle package? she has no idea, honestly, so she sends another message in english shortly after: ]
Hey, it's Percy. Let me know you're alright from moon chasing. And, well, y'know- Everything else? I haven't seen you since I got back, we should hang out when you have time. Can't have the dream duo Dare & Jackson if I don't ever get to see you.
[ a few hours after her skype call, rachel will find outside her very door a red clutch. in this clutch he may or may not have stolen from the station, rachel will find an assortment of fake stones, beads, fabrics he'd flirted with the seamstresses for, and a rock covered in glitter. gold glitter sticks to the lining of the clutch, the stone having been rolled in thick glue and then the glitter. it seems like the things she'd be into, this arts and crafts he thinks are more suited for kids. but he's tossed in a gold bracelet just for good measure. she's still a girl — he'd figured she'd get a kick out of it if he threw that in amongst the kid-like gifts. ]
[ and a note, written in perfect script — he has hermes' handwriting to thank for this particular forging. ]

[ he doesn't even know what to say, not really. because the more he talks about it, the more real it feels, and Percy wants no part in it. doesn't want to admit it, doesn't want to talk about it. he'd rather ignore it, continue pretending that everything is fine, like Annabeth is just at the castle in a place he can't see.
but her shard is heavy in his hand and it feels like a dead weight on his shoulders. ]
[ after the hit of the demigods, luke's uncertain of how to really feel. the only loss he feels is jason — aside from annabeth's, the one that's most paralysing to him as he's lost her yet again; never quite capable of fulfilling his promise of protecting her as he had always meant to — but he understands that the others had ties to the three that had gone as well. it's only a quick text, thalia and percy his main priorities, but he shoots one to her out of boredom and a wish to see her own reactions to him. he may not know rachel elizabeth dare, but he doesn't mind teasing her — it's a nice distraction for him, ignoring how he feels his chest constrict at the notion of annabeth being gone and being incapable of helping thalia not be in pain at the loss of her brother — and he doubts she wouldn't mind the distraction, either. as he's going around drabwurld collecting thalia a few things, he shoots her a message. ]
Do you need me to steal you some glitter so you can turn that frown upside down and be happy again?
[ Hi, Rachel. A little birdie ( see also: raven by the name of Nico ) told someone you were here and wouldn't you know it, he wasn't lying. ]
Do you remember who I am? [ It's a test, and it shows in how Reyna's arms cross. She wishes— desperately wishes she had her dogs around to test those she speaks to but they wouldn't work over the lockets and— well, perhaps it's better that they aren't here. For now she has to rely on her own ability to tell, she only hopes it won't fail her this time. ]
[ on christmas eve, in a cane basket, rachel will find a golden stone, courtesy of george and martha, covered in glitter (courtesy of luke, but if she's to run her fingers against the glitter, some will fall off to reveal snake teeth embedded into the stone so the two snakes will get credit for their hard work), a red scarf, a box of tarot cards and a book (both new and untouched) with a note slipped into the first page, stating, Next time I ask about my future, you've got no excuse, Red. ]
Rachel! [Someone sounds like a man with a plan and he's a little too enthused to share it with someone.] Hey...how adventurous are you feeling right now?
The package sent to Rachel is wrapped in cloth, and naturally so. What Dorian gives her for Yule is a set of well-crafted painting brushes, along with a card that indicates the best canvas-sellers and paint-makers in Parrais and that she should tell them her name and Dorian's and they will give her paint for no cost now, and for a much lower cost when the new year comes in.
( near the end of June, a fairy will find Rachel wherever she happens to be, and deliver a small box tied in string with a letter fastened atop it. the box contains a few glass vials of extremely vibrant paint. )
Hi Rachel!
I went to the Treun tournament earlier in the month. I'm not sure if you were there, but the stalls had some really amazing things. I saw these and thought you might like them. The stall owner said once it dries it should smell like some of the flora in La Llorona? I'll leave the experimentation of that to you.
I hope you're doing well and that you found all your friends safely after the war. Stay safe out there!
Clarke
PS: If the paint actually works and you like it, I'll see if I can find the shop he came from; I'm pretty sure he's an Unseelie merchant.

[He hesitates.]
Um...how's it going on your end?
